Rox sets a good example. I should be sleeping, too.
My bird is sleeping on the outside of his cage on a slant, tilted down at a 45 degree angle. I can't imagine that being comfortable. My mom said he's too lazy to find the door and walk inside. He's so cute sleeping like that. I wanted to take a picture, but even the sound of my footsteps in the kitchen scared him awake.
Friday is Beautiful
I'm bored and want to go to bed, but I want to see the end of What Women Want (even though I know what happens, I fell asleep on the end last time). To keep my hands busy while I watch, here ya go.
My sister and her best friend are writing a book of lists. I'm so proud of her. She's actually going around to people at school and interviewing them. (I could take tips from her for newspaper.) She was telling me about her most interesting ones: Ways you don't want to die, places you want to go before you die, and the funniest things that have ever happened to you.
So far, here's Anny's most unfortunate way to die: Mauled and eaten by a sea turtle.
Newspaper today was, in my head, pretty funny. I didn't know what to do! The editor girl said "find me a non-homecoming picture, figure out who's in it, and interview them. Go, you have 30 minutes." I was like, "Okay, what?" I asked her what to do, but I felt like an idiot because I figured all that was common knowledge and I was supposed to know what she meant. After she explained, I still had no idea. I probably spend 5 minutes trying to find the folder on the computer that she was talking about.
I was asking all these other staff writers who are nice to me for help. I hate this about myself, but I have no common sense. I wish I did, I really do, but I am so spacey it embarrasses me. This one freshman that I'm friends with was making fun of me for being so afraid of the seniors. She's like, "You can ask her, she's not going to eat you." Yeah? You don't know that for sure.
Now, I definitely have more common sense than these people, and unrealistic as it is, it makes me feel better. Stuck on an escalator! How unfortunate.
Happy weekend and TGIF for the next 45 minutes!

Pick-up Lines...I swear it's homework.
I'm writing a story for English class...I mentioned it the other day, the one about the park, the policeman, and the pretty girl. I was looking up pick-up lines because I need a really lame one that a cocky policeman might say that's not too obvious because he's supposed to be a professional. I thought of one on my own, but I found some other ones that were funny.
Wouldn't we look cute on a wedding cake together?
Be unique and different. Say yes.
So...you're a girl, huh?
Hi my name is [name]. How do you like me so far?
Are you going to kiss me, or do I have to lie to my diary?
Hehe. I'd look for more but I actually have to finish the story before I get so tired that I skip math homework again and do it in class.
Love and hope that your opening lines are better than my park cop's,
Juliana

Things I wish I hadn't heard about "The Brady Bunch"
Maureen McCormick aka Marcia Brady wrote an autobiography about her messed up life of crack and depression. I actually feel bad for her. Imagine dealing with all this terrible family stuff at home, then have to go in and pretend to live in a perfect world with a perfect family...wow. I'm so glad my parents never put me into acting.
I heard this on the radio this morning. They played audio clips of her saying that she traded sex for crack, two abortions, drug parties at the Playboy Mansion, and something about Steve Martin...eh, it was early. I couldn't resist looking it up though, so yeah, here's an interview with her about the book. Says most of that.
But wait...almost lost her virginity to the guy who played her brother...
o.O
I would have been better off not hearing the details on that one, thanks. Evidently, they were on-again-off-again boyfriend/girlfriend while the show was still on. Geez, dating a coworker is problematic when you have to sit next to him in a meeting room, not convince millions of people you're brother and sister. 5:50 in the video.
But yeah, apparently the Brady dad was gay and Eve Plumb (Jan) and Maureen don't talk anymore because Maureen started a rumor about that her and Eve kissed. She says she just meant it to be funny, but serves her right that Eve won't talk to her. I wouldn't either.
Almost lost her virginity to Barry Williams...gah. She had a crush on the guy who played her father, too (8:00). So messed up. Watch the video if you don't mind shattered illusions.
I do feel a little bad for her though. She said she liked the crying scenes in the show the most. Aww. That had to have sucked so much to have to live up to Marcia Brady. That's why all these Disney girls are so messed up, too.
Love and gratitude for my non-star child life,
Juliana

Homecoming merriment and my lack of yellow
Eh, not in a writing mood, but I want to tell my shirt color story!
This week is homecoming week, and evidently today we were supposed to wear the color assigned to our grade. Freshmen white, sophomores yellow, juniors black, and seniors green. I never got the memo on that, I was assuming that Friday was color day like last year. I was busy watching "John and Kate Plus 8" this morning, so I got dressed in 3 minutes, grabbed my bright green shirt because it was clean and matched my pants, and wasn't even thinking about color day. Now I'm a traitor to my grade.
Even funnier was there was this "Battle of the Classes" exhibition on the football field, like a pep rally where honest-to-God willing participants from each grade compete in potato sack races and field day events. Out of my friends that I was sitting with, two were also wearing green, and M was wearing this big black sweatshirt. All unintentional. It looked like we were making a political statement among the sea of yellow. I don't even own anything yellow except my Spongebob T-Shirt, but I can't exactly wear that to school.
I was mad that I wasn't allowed to bring my backpack to this thing. I wanted to do homework. I brought paper so I could write the extra credit story for English. I have to create a comedy scene using only a park, a policeman, and a pretty girl. Some Charlie Chaplin thing.
Returning to the point, M made enough sarcastic comments about our class representatives (most of them just mean people) and the whole spectacle that it kept me entertained. All our reps were of course the famous people (the girl who wears the piano and sock-in-mouth guy among others). I stopped paying attention after the second event and worked on my story, but it's nice to get to sit outside instead of working on court case studies in Government. The weather was nice today.
Sock guy is so annoying. He wouldn't shut up in Chemistry yesterday, so I don't have notes on the first half of the movie we were watching. He was talking sooo loud on purpose just so no one would able to hear or get any notes. I actually yelled at him. It felt good, and it surprised people. Well, our sub wasn't doing anything! Then in English...that's too long of a story. He's just an idiot. People don't believe that he's that bad. M was one of them, and she's so on my side now that she's met him. He does every annoying thing you can possibly think of to make his insults and slurs even more obnoxious.
Semi-speaking of M, she put blue streaks in her hair and now so really looks like Tibby from The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I really do think they look alike!
I have to take the PSATs tomorrow. I'm putting off thinking about it. I want to sit outside and do homework while people scream "Sophomores! Sophomores!" around me. Actually, I want to watch sock guy lose the tug of war again. ^^

Survey Time!
Thanks Kelsey! =]
What do you think about the last person you talked to?
My mom, and I think highly of her, than you very much.
Will you kiss someone within the next week or two?
Affectionately, probably. Romantically, probably not.
Love really is a beautiful thing, huh?
Yeah, it’s like duct tape. Light on one side, dark on one side, and holds the universe together. Wait, that might be The Force…still, it fits. Love’s great.
How are you feeling at this exact moment?
The happiest I’ve been on a school night in weeks.
Are you someone who worries too often?
Ask my mom, she thinks it’s going to be an Olympic sport because of me. If you’ve read my newspaper rants, you’ve gotten a taste.
What are you excited about?
Halloween!
Do you have any text messages that you don't want other people to read?
Nah, go ahead and read them…all six. I don’t text much.
Do you miss anyone?
Lots of people—my friends from middle school, friends who live in different states, and my old best friend.
How late did you stay up last night and why?
12:30. We got back late from NASA late and I was tired.
Have you ever kissed someone whose name started with a J?
I don't think I did.
Is there anyone you wish you could apologize to?
I think I already apologized to everyone who deserved a sorry.
What does your hair look like today?
I was in a rush and didn’t straighten it this morning, so it’s really frizzy. My hair never looks good; the humidity attacks it.
Honestly, if you could go back 5 months and change something would you?
I would have had a better last day of school. I would have made sure to enjoy it more. I remember worrying (here it is again ^^) that my friend and I wouldn’t see each other over the summer and wouldn’t be friends once school started again. I guess that was within the 5 month mark.
Is there anybody you wish you could be spending time with right now?
Right now? Well, I want to go to bed in a few hours so I’m all happy for school tomorrow, but I want to spend time with Lisa (my best friend) soon because I haven’t seen her in a few weeks.
Do you wish you never dated someone you dated?
No, every single one of my zero dates have been really fun.
Have you ever kissed anyone whose name started with a A?
…again?
How long does it take you to shower?
10-15 minutes usually. 15-20 minutes when I’m really tired. 20-25 when I’m cold or sick.
An ex calls and says he's getting married, what do you do?
Tell him he has the wrong number because I don’t have any exes, especially not any old enough to get married.
What was last thing you drank?
Hot Chocolate ^^
Who was the last person you held hands with?
Anny grabbed my hands, tied them around my back, and threw me onto the couch. Does that count?
Do you judge people you don't know?
Yeah, and a lot of people have pleasantly surprised me. I’ve had a lot of disappointments too though…
Are you different than you were this time last year? If so how?
Oh yeah, my shell lost a few layers. I’m nowhere close to losing it though. I think I’m a little wiser, too.
Today, would you rather go back a week or go forward a week?
Backward! Last week was amazingly happy-making. Except for Monday, but if I had to do it over, I wouldn’t get so stressed out.
When was your last alcoholic beverage?
Are the cops going to come get me if I answer this honestly?
If you were upset, who's the first girl you would go to?
Depends on what I’m upset about. Probably Lisa.
Are you a bad influence?
I say this humbly, but I think I’m a good influence. I would hope I am, I mean, I sort of aim for that.
Who did you say 'I love you' to last
One of my parents, I think.
How has the week been?
One of the best weeks in a long time except for Monday. Can I get rid of last Monday and substitute it with last Saturday? That would probably make it the best week of my whole year.
Who woke you up today?
I woke up on my own at 9 something.
What made you happy today?
Putting honey on pancakes this morning.
When was the last time you were disappointed?
I can’t remember. I think that’s a good thing, right?
Love,
Juliana

I love October.
You know, I think I've been avoiding posting on here for two days because I hate my new background so much. Changing it to something that looks better.
I had something on here like two days ago, but there's a reason why my posts are particularly devoid of pictures. It takes so long, and if you screw up the html code somehow, you have spend all that time again fixing it unless you actually know waht you're doing, and I really don't.
I've really busy since Tuesday anyway. Mom's friend's were down, so we did stuff around here and went to NASA on Saturday. Long ride. My friend was over, and we got pumpkins at the pumpkin patch and carved them. <3 Halloween stuff <3
Alright, my sister just came in here, tried to snap my arms in half, smacked me in the head, and ripped off the corner of my fingernail. I was trying to tell her that "Gossip Girl" airs Monday, not Sunday, and she hates to be wrong. I should know not to mess with Anny. She's so much stronger than me. At the beach Thursday, she got mad at me, so she swung me around by the arm three times, let go, and I flew 4 feet and landed almost face first in the sand. Unwillingly...I couldn't get away. She was trying twist my arm at NASA, and my friend said, "Wow, she realy abuses you!" I know! And she's 11! Nobody in my house worries about her self-defense.
Here's my favorite pumpkin patch picture. I think the little bench under the tree is adorable.

It's homecoming week at school. Not sure how I feel about all this school spirit merrriment, but at least it gets me out of classes.
Oh, Anny just decided to tear the stretchy plastic covering off a stress ball and chuck it at me. I don't think she's using it right. It's not going to do her any good on my floor. Weird that she can be so vicious, and once she gets the anger out, she's back to being all sweet and happy like nothing happened. Still makes me mad. And now I'm keeping her stress ball. ^^
